This plugin is used. The issue occured while trying to update the plugins after the update to 5.2 and it still remains. How can I help to fix it. Right now the only access I have is via filezilla to the folders of the wordpress. As I mentioned before control panel cannot be accessed.

@athinamj You should be able to go into the wp-content/plugins folder via FTP and delete the BackWPup plugin folder. Then try accessing your site again.

I deleted the plugin but the problem remains. Can I roll back to wordpress 5.1?

@athinamj Yes, you can download the zip of 5.1.1 here:

How can I install it without losing anything from my files, folders?

This is not a plugin issue. I have 4 different sites, all of which have no common plugins, and all have had this issue, which i literally stumbled through and *fixed* on all but one.

One solution is to delete the 2019 and/or 2017 theme(s) if you arent using it/them — that way you dont even have to update it/them.

I do have one site using the 2017 theme, so I’ll just keep working on it. Alas, wordpress support, it’s been so long since Ive been here.

Here, incidentally, is the error from the frame source:

b>Fatal error</b>: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in <b>/home/content/26/3548626/html/blah-blah-blah/wp-includes/sodium_compat/src/Core32/Int64.php</b> on line <b>272</b><br />
<p>The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.</p></body>
    </html>

And, no, there was no email.

This is a common issue with 5.2 update … just revert back temporarily and wait for a fix.

You can do a test copy of your site try to identify and solve the real cause of the problem.

@athinamj Is your server running a 32-bit version of the operating system / PHP?

    (@athinamj)

    Where can I see that?

@aoking The rollback ‘solutions’ on that page either involve installing a new plugin (may well not work, if updating them isn’t) or some fairly detailed manual deletion and installation of files with Horrible Consequences if you get it wrong.

    Ask the system administrator.

One site to test this sort of thing thinks it’s running Apache with PHP 5.6.28 on the Solaris operating system, but can’t tell more.

I rolled back to version 5.0.3 but the addon Swlabs Core if activated results in everything collapsing again. I need it to be activated bacause my front page won’t appear otherwise.

Side note: If you are helping here (AND I’M LITERALLY STANDING AND WAVING HELLO TO @whooami FOR REASONS ?? ) then great! Please continue.

If you need help for your own problem, please start your own topic. You can do so here.

With any new release of WordPress there are sometimes issues. That’s normal. But please do not try to connect your problem by taking over someone elses topic. More often than not, the two problems are different and you may only make it worse for the person who owns this topic. That would be @athinamj in this case.
