• On the Free Themes Directory, before I press the “Preview” button, the image of the theme has a comment area on the right hand side.

In this comment area, I see “gravatars” or “avatars”.

However, when I press “preview”, those the avatars boxes (where you can put your own picture in) disappears.

How can I activate the avatars in my wordpress theme? I not only would like my visitors to leave comments, but I feel it would be more appealing if they could also add their own pictures, such as in Yahoo Answers.

Does anyone know this answer? Thanks.

Settings->Discussion. Turn on the avatar support.

It gets the avatars from gravatar.com , so if your users want their own, have then sign up there and upload their picture.

I don’t see, “Turn on avatar support.”

By this, do you mean, “Show Avatars”?

Hi~ Anyone know of a comment system that works???? I had Disqus but I deactivated it because I was having problems with it and found out that it hasn’t been tested with WP 2.8. The WP comment system keeps showing the sideways “G” for ME even though I have a photo gravatar, and guests photos seem to show both a larger and smaller photo if they have a gravatar photo. And if they don’t, it does not show the selected image I chose in Settings>Discussion. What’s up? And if you know of something that works let me know! You can email me directly at [email protected] Just put “Gravatar” in subject line so I don’t miss it!

    Thanks~
