    (@wanderingon)

    Hi,

I updated WordPress to the latest version (5.2.1) and received the error message below. Can you please let me know what I need to do to resolve this issue? I have contacted my hosting company and they advised me to contact the plugin developer.

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, wordpress-seo.

First, visit your website (https://**********.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://**********.com/w) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    ******************************

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 446 of the file ****************************** Error message: Class ‘WPSEO_Capability_Utils’ not found

    Thanks ??

    • Did you receive the error in your email?
    • If you disable Yoast SEO plugin, do you still receives the email?
    • If you re-enable Yoast SEO plugin, do you immediately receive the email?
    • Are you running the latest version of Yoast SEO?
    • Do you see any errors in the dashboard or front end part of your site which is related to this?

I am also getting similar error for one of my client’s website. Unable to write, edit post / page.

    Got this in emal:

Did you receive the error in your email? Yes
If you disable Yoast SEO plugin, do you still receives the email?
If you re-enable Yoast SEO plugin, do you immediately receive the email?
No, I have received the email just once. When I disable/enable Yoast, I do not get another email but the issue is still the same.
Are you running the latest version of Yoast SEO? Yes
Do you see any errors in the dashboard or front end part of your site which is related to this? No – I do not see any errors on the dashboard. However, when I follow the link from the email, I get a blank page with just a ‘0’ in the top left-hand corner and a blank page other than that.

Can you please let me know how I can fix this issue?

    Thanks

I am having a similar problem with all-in-one-seo-pack. public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/modules/aioseop_sitemap.php. Error message: Out of memory (allocated 40108032) (tried to allocate 32768 bytes)
I can get to my site through recovery mode, but not get into any of the Dashboard areas, though they are listed above my main page and it shows me as logged in in recovery mode. I can get into my files via FTP or through my ISP.
Is there anything I can do on the file side to fix this. I tried renaming the plug in and could edit the offending file if that would help.
There appear to be no problems on ISP side. And I recently updated all my plug-ins and theme.

    Thanks,
    Ann

Just to further test, can you please delete the /wordpress-seo/ under /wp-content/plugins/ via FTP and check if the error persists?

The same issue was reported here and it seemed to be related to the database. Please check and see if the recommended fix works for you.

    Hi Jerparx,

Can you please confirm if your response is in relation to my issue or to abarry’s issue? I answered Md Mazedul Islam Khan’s questions in a previous message.

I am able to access my dashboard and post without issues. I just received this email from WordPress as outlined in my original post. How can I check if the issue is resolved or not?

    Thanks

@wanderingon We apologize for any inconvenience. While we are sure why you received such email from your site (the error message doesn’t clearly say why), you can ignore this if you don’t experience any issue in order to use Yoast SEO plugin on your site.

However, if you’d like us to investigate the issue further or if you keep receiving such email related to Yoast SEO plugin, please find out the server error log and look for the error that matches to the time when you received the email which will show more information on this.

@abarry @dzire2dzine If you’re experiencing an issue with Yoast SEO plugin, please do feel free to open a new topic and we’d be happy to assist you further.

We can confirm that we have already replied to you on the topic you’ve opened recently.

    I’ve received the same email:

“Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, wordpress-seo.”

Seems like this is an issue for many people. Are you looking into it as a bug?
