    Hi,

    I’m currently testing Subscribe2 plugin.
    I confirmed to send new post notification to different recipient addresses in different posts.
    What I want to do is to display each recipient addresses on mailer application when I send a new post notification to them. Our clients want to see to whom sent notification.
    However, I found out that source e-mail address is same as the destination address, which is my e-mail address when I checked mail property (my e-mail address is registered as admin).
    I checked “send e-mail” content in Subscribe2 menu, but it seems there is no menu to designate recipient addresses although I have already registered registered users and selected subscribed posts in each users.

    Any advise will be appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    I’m not sure I fully understand your question as it seems to me to be talking about several features on Subscribe2. I’ll try my best but if I’ve missed the point please post again.

    If you want to get a list of email recipients after sending you could install an email logging plugin.

    If you want to see a list of recipients before posting it will depend on whether the email is generated from new content on the site or from the Subscribe2 -> Send Email page.

    Essentially the location for a list of subscriber is the same for both but the lists may differ slightly as new content emails are based on the categories the content is assigned to.

    In the Subscribe2 -> Subscribers page there are 2 tabes – Public and Registered. In each there is a drop down filter. If you send from “Send Email” there is a similar filter so you can check the list of emails between the 2 pages. If yo are posting new content you can check the list of Confirmed Public Subscribers and the Registered Subscribers under the category names in the filter for the content you are creating.

    Hi @mattyrob,

    Thank you for your quick response.

    I’m sorry for not clarifying my point and question.
    I try to clarify my question again here.

    My goal is to see the recipient e-mail address on e-mail client such as Thunderbird or G-Mail. And what I want to know is that subscribe 2 is able to meet above.

    I succeeded to test to send a new post notification to the recipients(subscribers) with
    Subscribe 2 plugin. What I expected was that I could see the recipients e-mail addresses on “to” column of mail client (ex.If I send a new post notification to Mike with “Send Email”, Mike’s e-mail [email protected], is supposed to display on “to” column of mail client ). However, I found out my email address, [email protected], was displayed on “to” column of mail client.

    I checked Subscribes 2 configuration on my wordpress admin site, but it seems that there is no configuration tab to set to include recipients e-mail addresses when using
    “Send Email” . I know I can set subscribers whom to send a notification based on categories.

    If my explanation isn’t clear yet, please say so.

    Kind Regards,

    @tmanys

    Thanks for posting again and clarifying your question, I understand better now.

    In the Subscribe2 > Settings page under the Email Settings tab I’m pretty sure your setting for Restrict the number of recipients per email to will be set to something other than 1 – so zero or a number.

    This setting means that Subscribe2 sends email notifications using the email BCC header and sends each email (if there is more than one) to your email address with recipients in the BCC header.

    To get individual subscribers email addresses in the To address line you need to have that setting configured as 1. That means each subscriber is directly sent an email notification without using the BCC header.

    Please let me know if that helps or has not answered your question.

    Will that show the email addresses of all subscribers to everyone?

    @elliekennard

    No, each individual recipient gets a single email sent only to them.

    The setting is a legacy setting to aid delivery of emails; it’s faster to generate 1 email with all recipients in a BCC header and it used to count as just one email sent. But hosting companies realised this was being abused by spammers so BCC recipients now count as individual emails. As such there is not a huge benefit to this setting anymore and I recommend it is set as 1 (the default setting on installation).

    Hi @mattyrob,

    First of all, I’m sorry for not responding soon.
    I clearly understand how Subscribe 2 works.

    Now I see it seems that it’s difficult to achieve what I want to do with default settings of Subscribe 2.

    Is there any way to achieve what I want to do like modification of php source code of Subscribe 2 ?

    Best Regards,

    @tmanys

    If what you are after is email notifications with recipient email addresses individually in the To: field this is possible by settings Restrict the number of recipients per email to 1. All emails still get sent.

    Am I missing something? No code edits should be needed.
