• I use “Fotografie” theme for my website, unfortunate there a code-mess and missing pictures on the site due to the twenty seventeen theme..

The Catch Theme Support for “Fotografie”-theme wrote: “Hello Steenp, I just check your site switching twenty seventeen theme also , Visual Composer plugin is creating issue in your site while displaying the image in front end section, I suggest you to consult them regarding this issue, they will surely help you out!”

    About the problem:
All 9 pictures on this page https://www.ecocom.dk/fotogalleri/ have disappeared as I would upload a new image… You can’t see the pictures, but still the links ind the (missing) pictures are still working..

Almost same problem on this page: https://www.ecocom.dk/kontakt/ : When uploading af very small picture, I get this error (look at page).. When removing the picture, the problem is solved.. But that mean, that I can’t upload pictures to the page..
This code-mess is shown on the page:

    “[vcvSingleImage class=”vce-single-image” data-width=”85″ data-height=”85″ src=”https://www.ecocom.dk/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/ikon-tlf.gif” data-img-src=”https://www.ecocom.dk/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/ikon-tlf.gif” alt=”” title=”ikon-tlf”]”

It happened after updating wp-softare or plugins.. Have removed the plugins again, but it didn’t solve the problem..

    Hope someone can help..

  • Hi. I am confused. You are using the Fotografie theme but are saying the the Twenty Seventeen theme is causing the conflict? Can you clarify please.
    Thanks.

Hi, mee too! All I know is that the Catch Theme Support for “Fotografie”-theme wrote this after checking my site (got permission):

“Hello Steenp, I just check your site switching twenty seventeen theme also , Visual Composer plugin is creating issue in your site while displaying the image in front end section, I suggest you to consult them regarding this issue, they will surely help you out!”

Hi. Catch Theme supports comment is ambiguous. What they might mean is that they temporarily switched your theme to Twenty Seventeen, found that the problem still existed and then traced it to Visual Composer ( another plug-in you are using?) – try deactivating Visual Composer and see if that changes anything remembering to clear any main site cache etc. If it works then you need to contact the Visual Composer help/support. Regards.

Hello, thanks for advise. Tried to deactivate “Visual Composer Website Builder”, but it did not solve the problem.

    Hi again.

What I would do if I had this issue is change my theme to another theme like say Twenty Seventeen or Twenty Nineteen – or any current standard (included with WP install) WordPress theme as they are ‘known’ entities. Don’t worry about how your site looks compared to what you are expecting it to look like. You are only looking for the code errors you previously mentioned. I would then disable all plug-ins and view my live site. There should be no spurious code visible. I would then enable each plug-in one by one to check for errors on my live site – painfully slow I know but necessary to find the problem. Once you find the plug-in causing the issue you can deal with it.

If you disable all plug-ins and still find that you have spurious code visible, it implies to me that there is corruption in your theme code in which case I would delete the theme from my WordPress and reinstall.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for your advice! Thats the way a scientist would find the problem.

First I created a copy af my website. Then changed the Theme til twentySeventeen and removed all the plugins. Result: The code-mess remains, see top om this page https://www.ecocom.dk/stg_b0673/?page_id=72 As you say, I must delete my “Fotografie” theme and reinstall – but I don’t know how to delete it..

sorry, found the button to delete the theme….

It didn’t help to uninstall plugins and delete and reinstall the theme “Fotografie”.
I think that the plugin Visual Composer is creating all this mess. Have to delete the website and start over again.

Was the spurious code still visible after you de-activated the Visual Composer plug-in? If so that implies the issue is else where. Sometimes it is easier to rebuild – more efficient on your time.

Yes, the code was still visible after de-activating the Visual Composer plug-in. All plugins were deactivated / deleted. Without Visual Composer my HTML-code for at simple text-page is nice and clean. When activating Visual Composer the HTML-code is a mess. But it seems that Visual Composer has created a lot of code on the website that remains even that I remove / delete the plugin..
