GDPR / private information sent to your servers / spam mails from Elementor

  • 1. Installed some theme with Elementor locally to test and suddenly I’m receiving your mailchimp newsletters?

    Having been signed up to “Landing Page Builder v1” and “Landing Page Builder 2019” mailing lists automatically and without double opt-in?
    2. Option “Opt-in to our anonymous plugin data collection and to updates.” is disabled
    3. “We guarantee no sensitive data is collected.” links to https://docs.elementor.com/article/67-usage-data-tracking which mentions that the admin email is sent to your servers – how is that not sensitive data?
    4. “We take your privacy extremely seriously, and we never put any data to misuse.” – seems to me like there wasn’t a single opt-in nor double opt-in in play here. So that’s misuse of personal data?

    Suddenly getting emails from Ben from Elementor about Elementor Birthday sales.

    Fellas, what’s happening here? That seems like some serious GDPR violations.
