How do I apply and or update a category?

  • I’m trying to add specific categories to my wordpress template. I am putting in the name of the category, the description, and the slug. Whatever that is suppose to be? Then I am clicking on add category and then going up to the window with the apply button above and below it and checking the categories I want to apply and clicking on the apply button.
    Much to my chagin nothing, and I do mean nothing is happening. When I go to my site/template to see if it has been applied…..I get bumpkiss!

    And I was right there with you until…

    You don’t need to do anything after you hit “Add”.

    My guess is that your current theme is configured to hide empty categories (ie ones that don’t have any posts in them yet). Try adding a post to one of the new categories and then checking your site.
