Posts out of order in category list

The posts in my category list are out of chronological order. Also the most recent post is not showing up in my sidebar widget for recent posts

This is my most recent post

But it doesnt show as the most recent in the sidebar or in the category list

Please could someone advise if this is a problem with wordpress, the them or a plugin ??
