Remove black box on the basic thumbnails lightbox.

When I enlarge an image from the basic thumbnails it shows a black box with the title/caption on top of the lower edge of the picture. The longer the caption the more of the image it covers.

I would like to remove the black box altogether and have the caption in black type beneath the picture.

I found a partial solution on this forum from 7 months ago. edanzer (@edanzer) provided this custom css:

.sl-caption {
display: none !important;
}

This hides the black box but it also hides the title as well. Look at the first two images on the page.
