    Hi there.

    I thought the plugin would really help with SEO times and the idea of “smushing” images automatically sounded amazing.

    After 72hrs I open my website after someone told me there was a problem and yes, not one image is on my website. Over 20 pages of content wiped.

    I have no idea why.

  • Hi @zeropur,

    Sorry that you experienced some issues on your site. But Smush does not remove images. Could you please post a link to your website, so I can see the errors?

    Best regards,
    Anton

    To tell you the truth, I am now already running Updraft trying to save the website and get it back up and running as it should be.

    It has to be the plugin, it is the only thing I installed in the last 3 months on the site.

    @zeropur,

    You can get server logs from you host which will pinpoint exactly how the images got removed. Moreover, the free version of Smush skips original files. So even if all images that were optimized by Smush were to be removed (again, there is no code to do that in the plugin) – you could easily regenerate all the thumbnails from the original file.

    Best regards,
    Anton
