    Nextgen Pro with eCommerce.

On the page where the large, individual image is displayed (which appears to be a Pro Lightbox?) there’s a very tiny filmstrip at the bottom. Is there a way to have this NOT crop the images? And change the size slightly so they’re a bit more visible?

Other question. I have a pdf with some instructions on it. I’d like to have it on the page with several galleries, and when the user clicks on it have it display the pdf. I’d like it NOT to be in a gallery, just have a link on the page (which is actually an album I believe) to click and view the pdf?

  • Hi @skyykorat

    Thumbnails
Perhaps you might like to take a look at this Article: “NextGEN Gallery Thumbnails Cropped Your Way” https://www.imagely.com/thumbnails-cropped-your-way/

Remember, if you are experiencing some issues with our Pro plugin, Unfortunately, www.ads-software.com doesn’t allow us to address pro support questions here in the free forum. We can only address NextGEN Gallery [Free] questions only. Please submit a support request through your member area (either imagely.com or photocrati.com).

Open a PDF into another page
The ideal way is to embed the PDF or add a simple link the users can take a look at.

Nevertheless, there is a couple of workarounds using NextGen Gallery.

You can either add an HTML tag to the title or description of an image with the pdf and use a link tag “” to add the link to the desired page or file.

Or you can link a gallery to a page. You can read this useful article about that “How to Link Gallery in Album to a Page” https://www.imagely.com/docs/link-gallery-album-page/

In any case, you can find a workaround, but at this moment we can’t directly assign a link to an image. If you like, you can add that as a feature request here: https://www.imagely.com/feature-voting/

    Please, keep us posted.
    We are happy to help!

Unfortunately, the reason the questions are being asked here is because attempts to login get “It looks like your membership has expired. Please renew!”

I didn’t mind paying for the Pro version to get the ecommerce I needed originally, but it’s not cost effective to dump $80 or $100 per year just to possibly (too many “It can’t do that” answers) get answers to questions on the extremely rare occasion I need them.

I generally know WHAT I want to do to make the website more usable and the galleries look better, but I sometimes have no idea HOW to do it. Which often means whatever it is gets thrown on the trash pile ’cause it’s not worth the large expenditure of time and frustration to try to ferret out some kludge.

    Hi @skyykorat,

Well, even though we aren’t usually providing with support or presale questions here that reffers to NextGen Pro, I understand your point so I will offer some details below.

There isn’t such possibility to change the thumbnails size that are appearing in the Pro Lightbox. Those are set to a specific width and height and this size cannot be changed.

Also, you wouldn’t be able to add custom links for the gallery’s thumbnails in order to link those to any internal or external links.
