Grid Gallery images slightly warped // Turn off Zoom

I’m using the Grid Gallery layout 1:1 ratio and the photos on the stream pulling from the WP posts are slightly warped. I refreshed the cache, and added in the following to the CSS section that didn’t seem to help.

.ff-item .ff-img-holder img {
max-width: 100%;
}

Also, is it possible to turn off the hover zoom animation and just have the overlay show on mouse-over?
