Installing WordPress on MAc with Mamp

Completely new to this, know very little about websites and nothing about progamming. Have managed to get to the very last part of installing wordpress on my mac and then…

‘Lastly, we’ve got to run WordPress’ famous 5-minute install. Visit your local site (localhost:port or localhost:port/wordpress), and enter the following information into the database setup form:’

Sorry, whats the local site and where is it? And where is the database setup form? Would be really grateful if someone could tell me where I am going wrong/stupid.
