• So I’m really new to WordPress and I was trying to do something about what home page I was landing on and I made a fatal error. I changed the following line in the Settings area of my admin section:

    WordPress address (URL): https://www.whatever.com/blog

And possibly the line after that too. Now, when I go to https://www.whatever.com/blog/wp-admin, I get sent directly to one of the sub-pages of my blog (I think that’s the mistake I put in that line) and it has none of the CSS styles that I’ve worked on.

I think if I can change that line then everything would go back to being good, but so far I can’t find a way to change that information outside of the admin section that I can’t log in to. I didn’t see it anywhere in the config.php and I couldn’t find it doing a global text search on all pages in the site.

Is there some way to change this information outside of being in the admin section? Is it in the MySQL database somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Whoooo hoooo!

So excited when I fix something by myself. ??

So, a word to those other newbies out there… Don’t ever change that URL to something in your own blog!

I fixed it by finding the record in the SQL database and changing it there. I have full access to my server though and I don’t know if everybody doing this would have that kind of access and it may be difficult to get help on it.

Anyway, maybe this will help somebody else some day. ??
