• Can someone explain how everyone seems to be going about making their blogs? WordPress is hosting my domain ( hippievstony.com ). I signed up to be able to edit my css and started off with the Kubrick theme. It seems that most people download the WordPress software and create their own html and php code to upload to their individual hosting service. If my page is hosted by wordpress, how do I edit html and php?

Is it like varying degrees of customizability?:

    1not much custom – select a theme

2more custom – pay to be able to edit your css of the theme

3most custom – download wordpress, edit html, php and css and upload to some other hosting service besides wordpress?

I want to have my blog have two authors and have the posts sorted into two divisions in the content area by author. This sounds like something for html using divs and “get the author” function as helpful user esmi pointed out.

Sorry, I’m sure this is a dumb question, I just can’t seem to understand how to do this. Thanks

    tony

  • way more control if you have your own hosting and install the software yourself
at .com you can only have what plugins and themes they let you have
    you can’t edit many files
you are tied to their tos
    etc.

is there any way I can do what I want (two authors posting side by side) while still having wordpress host the blog?

    ask at their forums
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/
    but I doubt it

also, can I use the wordpress software, make my page just how I want it and ftp it to wordpress? or will they not host it? Just cause I already paid to have them host my site….
