  • The error appears to be in your theme. You should ask in your theme’s support forum, so they can fix it for everyone.

    Dear Ms. Joy,

I am using a free theme.

And I visited their theme’s support forum and was known that I need to revert back to the latest 5.0 WordPress version.

Is there any another choices that I don’t need to Downgrade my WordPress version?

    Please give me some advices!

    Thank you so much!

It sounds as if the theme author is aware of an incompatibility and is not going to fix it. So you have to decide whether you want the theme more than the WP version, or the newer WP version more than the theme. (Or find someone to fix it.)
If this theme is in the WP repository, please click the Report button on the theme page, because themes are not allowed to have fatal errors and be in the repository.
But there are thousands of free themes, so you should not feel tied to only one.

To fix your site with the newer WP, you can use your host’s phpMyAdmin to go into the database. The options table has an entry for template that you can change to the slug of a different theme that you have installed. (Themes only fallback to default on admin pages.)
