• Unable to accurately detect IPs Type: IP Detection Issue Found 20. June 2019 07:59
    Message from my hostprovider:
Your Website is not behind a proxy or anything else that should prevent this. I recommend that you try to reactivate Wordfence plugin. If you still experience the message, please contact their support for further details.

  • On the Dashboard > Global Options page in the General Wordfence Options section look for “How does Wordfence get IPs”. You can select different settings there and without saving be able to see what the site thinks your IP is and what it is with that setting. (look at image link below)

The IP listed should match your public facing IP address.
Once you see the correct one there save the changes and you’ll not have any other issues. If you do, respond here and let me know.

    Hi Tim,
Same value in public IP and in Wordfence “How does Wordfence get IPs” but still unable to accurately detect IPs in scan (“Type unable to validate a test request to your website”).

    No problem in a other sub-domain: https://www.peter-marcapata.dk/pollo

    Hey @pevagt,

Do have any caching plugins? If so, can you try clearing the cache to see if it helps?

You might also check for a conflict with either the theme or one of the plugins you’re using, could you try temporarily switching to a default theme if you’re not already using one and disabling all other plugins then reactivating them one by one to see if the issue persists?

To do so I recommend the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin which allows you to disable all plugins and switch to a default theme, but only for your user.

    Thanks,

    Thanks!
I tried yesterday to clear the cache but without result, but today a good result, no errors anymore!
Otherwise, I have exactly the same setup on other pages on the same domain with the Avada theme and it has never caused problems.

OBS! The plugins Health Check & Troubleshooting and can now be found under Tools > Site Health, – But maybe not with so many features?
It tells: “Your site does not have any default theme. Default themes are used by WordPress automatically if anything is wrong with your normal theme.”
    Is that a correct recommendation?

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hey @pevagt,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it!

And thanks for the information. I’ll have to look into it, but I believe that the message means that you don’t currently have any default themes installed. But if something goes wrong where your theme is somehow deactivated it’ll activate a default theme for you.

Please let us know if anything else comes up.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
