    Hi there,
I did set up as discussed in an older support forum entry all parameters for sorting, including additional plug-in (DataTables Sorting plugins) and additional parameters like: “columnDefs”: [ { “type”: “date-eu”, “targets”: [ 1 ] }, { “orderable”: false, “targets”: [ 0, 2,3 ] } ], “order”: [ [ 1, “desc” ] ]

However, with growing table (around 80 entires) suddenly, maybe after WP 5.2.2 update, the sort onption does not work properly … some newer dates appear at the top, some in between… so far nothing was changes except updates of WP…

We had an encounter that stopped the table to be sorted due to an empty line in the table, but this isnt the case right now…

    Can you please assist?
    thanks

I see the error in Chrome and Opera, but the sorting still seems to work on IE and Firefox… can you confirm?

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not exactly sure, if this is the reason, but please try removing the extra line break and space character in row 12 of the table (for the even on 09.11.2018).

    Regards,
    Tobias

MEISTER! looks like it did the job. How could you find this so quick? I guess I will encounter those type of errors now and then, so it would be great to know how you do the magic! ??

I guess you just earned yourself a beer!

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! ?? Good to hear that this helped!

I basically just looked at the generated HTML source code in the browser and spotted the extra <br /> HTML tag that this had generated ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

    I did rate, thanks.
Looks like Chrome is more sensitive in this case concerning extra characters, since the other big browsers I checked(IE, Opera Firefox) display the sorting correctly, despite the extra characters. Anyhow, I will check the tables in future like you suggested. have a great weekend!

    Hi,

that could be possible, yes. There are differences in the browsers regarding the handling of such HTML content.

    Tobias
