    Hi guys,

    Great plugin.

One thing I would like to request is the ability to set different compression based on the file type.

For example, if the images is PNG, I would like to use Lossless. If the image is JPG, then I would like it to be Lossy.

I’m currently using the Glossy setting as a middle ground, but having the option based on file type would great for advanced users.

Hey @luminsol – thank you for your message and for using ShortPixel! ??

We’re considering internally adding this feature, thank you for suggesting it.

In the meantime please note that you can manually choose the compression algorithm for each image in Media Library/list view.

    Best regards,
    Alex

Thanks for the tip Alex, but if my default setting is glossy, and I manually choose lossless (e.g. for logos), the plugin will attempt optimise it again when re-optimising from the bulk page.

Ideally, I want some way to tell it to NOT optimise a previously optimised (lossless) image.

@luminsol – sorry for my slow reply first of all.

Please note that an optimized image won’t be optimized again if you run bulk so it should be safe to manually optimize different images with different compression algorithms and they’ll remain that way.

    Regards,
    Alex

Thanks for getting back to me.

I could have sworn that the wording on the Bulk optimisation page says that only images previously optimised as “glossy” won’t be re-optimised.

I will have to double check next month when I my credits renew.
