• Hi, When I comment on other people’s blogs, if their blog is on Blogger.com, my name doesn’t link back to my WordPress site, it links instead to my old Blogger account. If their blog is on WordPress, my name links back to my WordPress site just fine. Here is an example (my comment is third in line, “H. Hennenburg”:

I have added my URL to my user profile in WordPress, but it makes no difference. I have deleted my old Blogger blog.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Your Blogger profile will be separate from your WordPress one. If they matched before then that must have been due to a manual configuration. For instance your Blogger account must have had your WordPress website in the profile configuration for Blogger itself: https://storage.googleapis.com/support-forums-api/attachment/message-3147766-1989883140264160696.jpg

I know they are separate. I was hoping there was a way to have my name link to my WordPress site by default regardless of the platform being used by the blogger whose page I’m commenting on. Is that possible? Thank you!

Your Blogger profile to link back to your WordPress site? I’m not sure I understand what you mean, this sounds like a specific question for Blogger. There is no central place for blogging platforms to communicate with each other. When we refer to a website being “self hosted”, it means it lives on its own server and is self-contained. Other websites are not aware of your website. I don’t think what you’re asking is possible.

This is an old article, but it is kind of what you are talking about (just very different in implementation details).

No, we’re not understanding each other. Thanks for trying to help. I’ll find a workaround.

    hi,
your website backend create new user after that all old blog post select new user.
wordpress url like username not first and last name.

    like this
    username: hennenburg
    url: https://yourwebsite.com/author/hennenburg/

This isn’t a WordPress topic, it’s a Blogger platform topic and that’s not for here.

It’s not possible. The two platforms do not communicate with each other in anyway. The best you can hope for is maintaining your Blogger profile. If you need help with that then please ask on their platform support.
