I’m just in the process of setting up a food blog, looking at getting the premium version of WP Recipe Maker but wanted to try out the free version first to get the feel of it. But it’s not working for me at all, I get this message all the time when I try to use the plug in. The installation says only to install and activate the plug in as is,

I’m not sure what’s going wrong here. Could you check with your website if there’s anything that might be blocking access to the WordPress REST API?

I found that REST API gave an error message in wordpress health check as well, so the problem wasn’t related to the plug in. Fixed it by reinstalling wordpress on the server after support couldn’t find anything wrong on their end. Everything checks out and works as it should now.

Happy to hear you got things working!
Do let us know if you experience any other issues at all.

@brechtvds – just in case you get similar issues on this topic – this also happens when memory_limit is too low. I had the same thing happen just now, error logs showed Out of memory errors. I switched it to memory_limit = 256M and all is fixed.
