Keeping track of updated media uploads

Hi,

I’m really looking for some advice with this question, so if it’s in the wrong forum I apologise, and I can repost elsewhere.

I have a client that I’ve built a site for, and I’m looking for a way to keep track of, and update, links to uploaded documents that appear on multiple pages.

So for example, the client uploads a file “handbook-2019.pdf” and provides a link for visitors to download this on several different pages. Is there some way (perhaps a plugin) that the client can upload a replacement file the following year “handbook-2020.pdf” and have WordPress automatically update the links on each page?
