I have anonymous event submissions on my website and people have been experiencing the “Trying to perform an illegal action” error in recent days. I have no idea why as I have not changed any plugins or settings. I did start using Litespeed Cache a few weeks ago so I do wonder if that might be having an effect even though everything was working until a few days ago? All users have full permission so I don’t think it’s an issue with User Role permissions (and the events are submitted anonymously anyway). I am using the latest WP 5.2.2, the latest EM 5.9.5 and the latest PHP 7.3.6. Is there any way to fix this?

  • Hello,

    My suggestions are:

    1. If it only happens after you installed the Caching plugin, Please try and disable it and monitor if the issue still happens.

    2. Try lowering your PHP 7.1 or 7.2. PHP 7.3 was just recently released and I’m quite sure not all plugins support it yet.
