• I have two blogs on blogger that I have been maintaining since 2004. There are over 700 posts in total.

I now wish to setup a wordpress blog on my own domain and server. I Tried without result to directly use the Blogger import feature. When I click on Grant Access during the authorization process I kept getting the following error:

    Could not connect to https://www.google.com

There was a problem opening a secure connection to Google. This is what went wrong:

    The operation completed successfully.

Thank you for creating with WordPress. | Documentation | Feedback

    Version 2.8.3

I also temporarily create a blog on www.ads-software.com and the direct import from blogger did work but I still have to move all that content into my own server.

The problem I am facing is that the my blog is in Unicode which makes the file size much larger than conventional ASCII text. The XML file from Blogger is about 20Mb and there is now way to upload 20Mb into the server. I also don’t know How I can split the WordPress XML file so I can import them in parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
