  • Back up your files and database – if you dont know how to do it manually, use the wp-db-backup for database and the wordpress backup by BTE for your images, current theme and plugins.

Deactivate all your plugins and switch to the default theme – now hit the upgrade button and follow the on screen instructions.

All being well you now have an up to date version of wordpress, restore your original theme and reactivate the plugins one by one.

    good luck

    There are instruction here:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Upgrading_WordPress

But of course don’t shy to ask if things do not go as expected.

    Hi!
    Thanks for the tips!
I did a little mess here, when upgrading my site.
Looked for a solution in the link posted but couldn′t find.

The problem was: I forgot to deactivate the plugins and widgets.
Now a lot of errors occurs and my site is offline.

Can it be solved, or i gotta clear it all, and reinstall from scratch?

    Thanks again

First thing to try is to use FTP or the file manager of your PHPmyAdmin/Control Panel/whatever and rename the plugins folder so that they are all deactivated and try again.

    Hi again.
Renamed the folder Plugin, but now the error message is this:

Fatal error: Class wp_widget_pages: Cannot inherit from undefined class wp_widget in /home/t44241/public_html/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 15

guess the problem is with the widgets, of course. hehehe

    What can I do now?

What about if I replace the default_widgets.php with a blank one, like the original from install? Or someone send me this with the widgets off.
    Is that a good idea?
