• I had been struggling to update my blog to the newest version of WordPress and suddenly today it worked. I “installed” it from scratch, added my backed up postrs {which only backed up till Jan 09, when I exported them 2 days ago, making me loose 8 months worth of posts} and my backed up theme and now I can’t see the “new post” screen or the “edit post” screen.

What is going on? I’m super pissed that I lost 8 months worth of posts, and had error messages out of the wazoo for two days, plus a database issue which finally got resolved, and now I can’t even add a new post or edit old ones. This is getting rediculous!!

  • You don’t give us much to go on. So you installed a new instance of WP…how did you get the “backed up posts” in this new install? Was the new install working beforeyou added added the backup?

Finally, do you still have the original database? If so, then you should still have all your posts and you can recover the lost 8 months.

I still have the original database information – I have the database hosted on my domain. But I wouldn’t have a clue as to how to get back my posts.

I’m having a new problem now. I keep getting an error everytime I try to log in. What I did was re-load up the post/edit files and it started to work. Except I couldn’t upload any photos into my post. So I uploaded the “upload” files. Which resulted in a syntax error. So I re-uploaded all the files, which I thought would work, but resulted in a:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: delete_transient() in /homepages/43/d283890383/htdocs/Blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php on line 23

    Any Advice?
