I run Gtmetrix and it tells me that images are not optimized

    I use the Smush plug-in for my images and they are all smushed and optimized I believe. But maybe not. The Gtmetrix is telling me the opposite. I know nothing about optimizing images apparently and thought the plug-in was doing it. Help me please. How do I optimize images?

    Hi @heath18,

    Free version of Smush can’t optimize the original image, it will only optimize your thumbnails, and from what I see in GTmetrix there are no reports for thumbnail images and all 3 reported images are full-size ones.

    Smush Pro does include full-size image in optimization and it also offers CDN service with AutoResize feature that will serve correctly sized images and can take care of the other report you have on GTmetrix “Serve scaled images”.
