• Under the WooCommerce settings, I have “Available on backorder” set to show as “Available on special order”, and special text set to replace “(can be backordered)”.

When I look at product records, only the text replacing “(can be backordered)” is populated. The replacement for “Available on backorder” is not.

The site is using WooCommerce 3.7.0 and Divi 3.27.1 (with a basic child theme).

It could be conflict with theme or any plugin you installed, you can try switching to other theme or disabling related plugins.

    Thanks

I just stubled upon this post, as I had the same issue.

    I found that:
Allow backorders? ALLOW – does not show the custom text
    but
Allow backorders? ALLOW, BUT NOTIFY CUSTOMER works ok.

    can that be fixed?

    many thanks
