Placeholders and Default Values

    Is there a way to assign default values and/or placeholders to the Link Field element? I’m not sure how to designate either of these for the two fields (URL and Link Text).

    If you set a default value for a link field, it will set the “clickable text” to the default value, which the user can change.

    There isn’t an easy way to set the URL to a default value.

    That is actually what I did, but it doesn’t seem to work. In my signup form, I’ve got a field for Website, Form Element is set to Link Field, and under Default Value I put WEBSITE, as I want all entries to use this value. Then, after saving these settings, the form still says Link Text as the placeholder. What am I doing wrong?

    I see that it is not easily possible to change the placeholders for the link field. I didn’t realize that, that is something I will want to change, but for now, the only way to change it is to use a custom translation file:

    the key to look for is “linktext”
