WordPress error when replying also cannot delete topics

    Hi, Having some problems with the forum plugin and can’t work out what’s going on. Was working one minute and now it’s not…. If I reply to a thread I get a white page with an error saying “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” when I click back on the browser it takes me back to the forum where I can see the post is successfully submitted. If I try to delete the post I just get constant loading symbol on the top right of the screen and then after I refresh the browser it finally deletes.

    If I create my own topic everything works fine until I try to delete the topic. If I try to delete it via the dashboard I get another error then I refresh the page and it deletes but if I go into recent threads the deleted thread still shows and it also says that I posted it 50 years a go! Some weird stuff going on. Any idea what the problem is? I have already contacted my host who couldn’t find the problem and said to contact the app developer.

    Hi @trailscotland,
    This is a hosting service issue or recent installed/updated plugin conflict. I recommend deactivate those and test.

    Let me know what error you get in dashboard when you delete a topic?

    And please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Debug > Errors & Issues Tab, find error reports. Those may helpful to debug. Also in the Tables Tab check database errors.

    Thanks for the quick reply. The host said it’s likely a problem with the app after investigating. There are no reported errors in the errors and issues tab.

    I just deactivated all my plugins then tried to post on the forum and the problem happened every time so I’m not sure it’s other plugins that are causing the problem.

    When I delete the topic from the dashboard I get the following “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” After I refresh the page the topic is gone but it still shows when you navigate to the forum on the website.

    There is also no errors showing in the database tab

    Ok @trailscotland,
    Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page and click following buttons with following order:

    • Update Topics Statistic
    • Rebuild Threads
    • Synch User Profiles
    • Update Forums Statistic
    • Delete All Caches

    It you still see the same error, please open a new support topic in wpForo Support forum and leave some reference to this topic.

    Hi after clicking Update Topics Statistic I get a timeout error and the site doesn’t work for about a minute afterwards. All the other buttons work successfully but do not fix the initial problem.

    Ok, you have a big topic and your hosting plan can’t count and update such a large information in database. I’d recommend split that topic or use more powerful hosting plans.
