• Hi!
I started using wordfence a couple of weeks ago and left the firewall in learning mode, Worfence provides a list of the top 10 ips blocked but the thing is I don’t have any blocking rules set up so I’m lost as to why these ips are being blocked.
Are there any default blocking rules that wordfence has?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @natfor,

By default, Wordfence has multiple rules that protect your site against attackers.

Some example of these rules are:

    – Blocking IP addresses that attempt to inject SQL
    – Blocking IP addresses that attempt to inject XSS
    – Blocking IP addresses that exist on the global blacklist

If you check Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic, you can find out why these iP addresses are being blocked. (Upon expanding a row)

    Hi @natfor,

Since we haven’t heard back from you I am assuming that the instructions solved your issue so I am marking this topic as resolved.

If however, for whatever reason, you are still experiencing this issue and it is not resolved please respond to the post, and mark this topic as “not resolved”.

    Thanks,
