• Hello Rife Free community,

I have been using Rife Free Theme and I really like how it looks like on my website. But I have users experiencing troubles with the website’s speed despite I don’t (and the WordPress support don’t have any neither).

So I have run speed tests on GTmetrix and Google Speed Insights. The results are not very good. I know they are to consider with attention but can also be wrong sometimes.

I figured that the AMP setup had a big influence on those results. When I set it up in ” Transitional” the display on mobile is the best but the speed of my site is quite slow, I have a lot of errors of JS, CSS and HTML type coming from the theme.

If I set the AMP in “Standard” those errors disappear and my website is much faster.
But there is a major issue on the mobile devices. The menu won’t show up when I click on it. Neither any of the header widgets (research, facebook/instagram accounts). Which makes the navigation on my site poor and 75% of my readership uses mobile !

I would really love to be able to keep this Theme but I also want my website to perform well. I contacted wordpress support and they advised me to get in touch with my Theme support to see if they could help. Otherwise, they said I would have to change theme.

My website is https://globefreelancers.com and my host is wordpress itself. I am not a big codeur therefor I don’t have any FTP. I can change basic code lines but I’m not really understanding JS and CSS.

    Can you help me ?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Best regards,

    Benjamin

    Hey ??

Currently, I don’t see any JavaScript errors on your page coming from the theme, so I assume you are in “Standard” mode right now?

But there is a major issue on the mobile devices. The menu won’t show up when I click on it. Neither any of the header widgets (research, facebook/instagram accounts). Which makes the navigation on my site poor and 75% of my readership uses mobile !

I didn’t experience this either on Android or iOS. Menu works fine.
Could you let me in more details what are you experiencing?

For sure you should fix logo for HIGH DPI on your site, as it is not there currently: https://rifetheme.com/help/docs/customizing-the-theme/header/logo/#image-logo

    With kind regards.

    Hello,

Thank you for the answer. I am currently on the Transitional mode.

What do you mean by HIGH DPI ? How does it affect the site speed ?

The errors are reported on my index and they are like 15 per article I publish. According to the index, some are caused by the Theme, I’ll put a screen shot tomorrow.
When I change theme, or AMP mode, the speed test results are much better, do you have any idea why ?

    Hey:-)

What do you mean by HIGH DPI ?

Please read the documentation chapter that I have linked before. It doesn’t affect page speed, but you will have a logo displayed on mobile devices with higher pixel density screens. Currently, there is no logo.

When I change theme, or AMP mode, the speed test results are much better, do you have any idea why ?

No, I don’t. I didn’t have the occasion to test our theme with various AMP plugin configurations yet.

The errors are reported on my index and they are like 15 per article I publish.

I have a lot of errors of JS, CSS and HTML type coming from the theme.

So do you mean PHP errors or JS errors? JS errors are reported to console, but what you write sounds like PHP errors.

I would love to see this screenshot.

    With kind regards.
