Customize Table Background Color

Hi, I’m trying to change the background color of the table at the above link used as a purchase options matrix.

If you inspect the element, you will see that I’ve implemented the following custom CSS rules:

.custom-table-background {
background: #f5f5f5;
background-color: #f5f5f5
}

The background has not changed color, wondering what I’m doing wrong.

I’d also like to know if there is a shortcode or other way to insert Fork Awesome icons in regular text without importing the icons onto my site (seeing as shortcode ultimate already does this)?
