    Hi,

    I have an issue with importing a wpress-file. It uploads 100% and then it says “Unable to import – Unable to open file for reading.”

    I have never had this issue before. My hostingprovider Misshosting is supported by you. I’ve increased the max_time and size.

    What to do?

    Best,
    Fredrik

  • I have the same problem. I’ve used this plugin before and it worked perfectly but this time no success.

    I also read that using an older version of this plugin can fix this issue but everytime I try and install a version older than 7.5 it auto updates to the latest version 7m5

    Can anyone help please?

    Okay this worked for me.

    I uninstalled all All-in-One plugins. Then I installed the Basic download by downloading from here: https://import.wp-migration.com/ and using the ‘add new plugin’ feature of WordPress

    I then installed the All-in-One plugin again from within wordpress (add New then download from catalogue).

    Then tried importing again using All-in-one plugin and it just worked.

    Weird!

    This method did not work for me. Any other thoughts?

    @flinty2000 this worked for me too thanks!

    @flinty2000 Been looking for a way for hours, and finally! You’re a god!

    I had the same issue. @flinty2000 ‘s solution still works.

    The Flinty2000 method worked for me too! nothing else would work. Thank you Flinty2000!!

    @flinty2000 method works just perfectly.

    @flinty2000 you’re a lifesaver ??

    @flinty2000 Worked for me too! Thank you SO much!

    I monitored the process in FTP, and noted a couple of things that may be useful to others. First, the plugin files from my original installation of the plugin remained even after I uninstalled it in the WordPress Dashboard, until I purged my caches. If you have any caching plugins, you may want to purge all before doing the new installs.

    Second, you didn’t mention whether or not to activate the Basic version after installation, but I did.

    The extension seems tiny. I can’t imagine why they don’t just include it with the version of the plugin in the WordPress repository. I wasted hours on this which I can’t bill for ?? But thanks to you, @flinty2000, I at least got the job done. You’re my 2020 Thanksgiving hero ??

    another thanks to @flinty2000 !

    Hello
    I have faced 2 issues but they all are resolved.
    Problem1. Unable to Upload Backup file OR Unable to Import File Or file stuck between uploading.
    Solution. Upload backup file through File Manager (/wp-content/ai1wm-backups)
    Problem2. After uploading unable to restore backup file
    Solution. Download this version (all-in-one-wp-migration.6.50) and click again on restore

    flinty2000’s solution worked for me. And I was super skeptical ??
    (I was getting the “Unable to open file for reading” message at the end of my upload, every time).
    So thanks!
