    Hello,

I have a bit of a different question and I hope you can help me. I am trying to make sense of what cookies we have on our site. We are using your plugin for Google Analytics + enhanced e-commerce and are very happy with it ??

I am also using a plugin called Google Tag manager for WordPress.
Here I have set up Facebook pixel and different Facebook tags, a submit form-tag, Google
ads conversion tracking tag, conversion linker tag, add to basket-tag and click on phone nr-tag.

According to our cookie scanner we have 9 cookies but I’m gonna focus on these: _fbp, _gcl_au, facebook pixel and google adsense.

I was wondering if you know which one belongs to your plugin? I assume it is the _gcl_au, but I just want to make sure I understand what all the cookies are and I am not missing anything.

    Thank you so much ??

    Hi @isabella92 ,

Thanks for writing to us..!! It’s great to hear that we could add value to your ecommerce store.

Nope, our plugin does not create any cookies from the above mentioned. _gcl_au cookie is created by google tag manager which is a first party cookie for conversion linker functionality.

Through our plugin there is only one cookie being created which is ultimately a result of Google Analytics (_ga).

Hope this answers to your query here.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly! That was very helpful! Thank you for clarifying.

You see I am using a plugin called Ultimate GDPR plugin. In it you can do a “detect cookies”-scan, which is what I have done. That’s where it detected 9 cookies, however your cookie “_ga” was not detected.

It does say it is not compatible with all plugins so I guess this might be why. But they also have a function where you can add the cookie manually. I want to make sure I have all my cookies listed in the plugin so that visitors can choose to opt out if they want to.

Is there any way you can offer me some help on what I need to add in the specific fields to add the cookie from your plugin? It doesn’t seem like I can send a screenshot here but the fields are: Title, ID, Service name, Script names, Cookie names, Type of cookie, First or third party, can be blocked (yes or no), session or persistent, expiry time, purpose, do you want to active this service.

I do understand this might be out of reach to ask, but the customer service at the other plugin told me that I have to contact customer service with the specific plugins so that’s what I am trying to do.

    All the best ??

I should also add that there is a field in the plugin that says “Disable google analytics tracking ID when cookies consent not given” and you can put your Tracking ID. I have already done this, so perhaps I don’t need to manually add your cookie then? It already gets blocked?

I am very sorry if this is more than I should ask for, I just really want to solve this issue.

    Hi,

    1. Yeah absolutely if you choose Google Analytics Opt out feature of our plugin that will restrict GA to capture data from users who have opted out for the same.

    2. If you want data on _ga cookie fields, I can suggest you this article by google analytics which can help you out with your queries on the cookie fields.

Hope this helps. Feels free to reach out for any doubts.

Thank you again for your help!

    1. OK do you still think I should add the _ga cookie manually? Or this overkill since I already have that opt out feature? Do I also need to edit something inside your plugin you say?

    2. Thanks so much, I will check out the article!

So I was told that you can check all the cookies on your site with the google chrome developer tool so I did this. Here I could see the _ga cookie, but for me it actually shows 2 of them with the same name? Do you know why this could be?
    _ga – value GA1.2.1895497027.1566886921
    _ga – value GA1.2.697746040.1566299054

I can see that they have different values so maybe that can tell us something. Perhaps one is a “google tag manager”-cookie? Since I have that other plugin as well (https://sv.www.ads-software.com/plugins/duracelltomi-google-tag-manager/)

    Thanks again ??
