Multicolumn slider

When I change “Container width break points”, is this the same I change window width break points? Or it’s about the container width where the slider is shown? Why I’m asking this, because I have multi column carousel and the template has a sidebar. I’d like to make sure if this break points applied on the container, but not the window.
