I think the idea of this plug-in is good, but after processing my site for eight hours, it simply did nothing. So I’m trying again. Maybe I’ll get lucky?
    _____
UPDATE: after dozens (yes, probably 30+) of attempts to create a static version of my 8-year blog with WP2Static, involving three browsers, current and beta versions of the plugin, “tech support” and the forum, not to mention “documentation,” which consists largely of powerpoint presentations in exotic locales, I can sum up this plugin for someone who is not a web developer in one word: disaster.

If my use of WP2Static was misguided for this purpose, I apologize. I was under the impression it would allow me to create a fixed, WordPress-free static archive of my blog. I was wrong.

    Hello there priehl,

Thank you for taking time to give a feedback. However, you don’t need to make a review to report bugs in the plugin. You can open a support topic instead in the support forum for the plugin which will really help us a lot to fix all issues that bugs us all.

Giving us a low rating and negative comment isn’t an effective way of pressure to get things out faster.

Also, rest assured that we are working on fixing the issues introduced with the latest versions. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. I don’t have the technical competence or confidence to report a “bug.” I’m simply trying to archive the contents of a WordPress blog I’ve self-hosted for almost eight years. 1,200+ posts. And maybe the comments, though that’s not a deal-breaker.

I won’t object to your saying this is over my head; I accept that. I’m not a code jockey, nor do I aspire to be. But the premise of your plugin appears to be that it’s reasonably easy to do what I’m trying to do. Sorry if I misread it.
