Cannot set home page correctly

Thanks for the replies. They have been great.

One problem I have is when I bring up the site, it goes to this page:
https://hinsdalecentralfoundation.org/

I have to click this page to actually see the home page:
https://hinsdalecentralfoundation.org/index.php/hinsdale-central-foundation/

I started with Elementor for the home page and stopped because I didn’t like it. The rest of the site is developed in the standard WP editor. I think this is where the problem started. I’m not sure if I can just delete the Elementor plugin without breaking the site.

Can you tell me how to remove the 1st one and activate the 2nd one as the home page and remove Elementor?
