sermon sort fields – how to add service type

  • I am using the sermon_sort_fields shortcode and four heading come up – preacher, series, topic and book.

    On the support page

    it says that you can customise this shortcode to hide a field or add one in and so on.

    I want to add the ‘service type’ field in and perhaps suppress the ‘series’ heading, but I simply cannot get the shortcode to work. There is no helpful example for this shortcode on the support page, unlike most of the other shortcode descriptions.

    Could anyone help please?

  • Not sure if it’s a bug or not, but if you go to the Settings > Display and check “Display Service Type Filtering” this will show the “Service Type”.

    OK – that is very helpful to get me going, thank you.

    And I wonder, yes, if it is a bug as only a few of the arguments for this shortcode seem to work.

    Edit: although it does indeed show the Service Type field, when an option is chosen, it doesn’t filter ??

    I never noticed it, but I don’t use that shortcode nor display ‘Service Type’. I only noticed the “bug” trying to help another member here a while ago.

    Yeah – I think quite a few of the arguments for other shortcodes are also not working.

    For example, you cannot change the image size when setting a grid using the sermon_images or add the description plus some other stuff.

    Been over six months since this plugin got an update, so I guess they are focusing on the pro version.
