    Hi there,

first of all, thank you for the awesome plugin. Even if I doesn’t happen to fit my needs in the end, it’s still a very good free product.

So, here’s what I’m trying to do with it:

On my page there are two separate sections I try to combine into one single row now – the Info Section [Screenshot Info] and the News Section [Screenshot News].
My Page is built with WPBakery’s Page Builder and both rows contain elements of said builder. The Info Section is a single row, divided into three thirds. In every third, there is a ‘Feature Box’- and a ‘Button’-Element. The News Section is just a single row, in which a ‘Blog Summary’-Element is placed.
Redesigning my page a bit, I wanted to combine both sections in a single row, devided like 1/3 row for the Blog Summary and 2/3 for the Info Section. So, something like THIS. The problem is, that the ‘Blog Summary’-Element is by default set to show three posts next to each other, so when I place the element in the 1/3 row, it still displays three blog posts next to each other instead of one, and these three get very narrowed down, which looks bad, as you may imagine [Screenshot].

So, that issue, made me search for a new Slider Plugin, that gives me the possibility to display the latest Blog Posts and I came across Smart Slider 3. When I try reaching my goal using it, I can’t figure out how to make the Slider ‘automatically’ fit into the 1/3 row [Screenshot Backend-Setup]. Because now, the Slider exceeds his 1/3 row container (Respensive Mode is set to ‘Auto’) and is also way too huge in height [Screenshot Issue]. What I want it to do in terms of size ist to stick to its 1/3 row width and be as high as the Info Section next to it.
I will be very thankful, if you could help me achieving this goal.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @helldoor

    1) Responsive behavior
The auto responsive mode should make the slider fit into the container. I tried to check your site to see the codes and figure out why that doesn’t seem to work, but I couldn’t as the site is in maintenance mode. Is there any chance to temporarily disable the maintenance mode?

    2) Slider height
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to make the slider match its height with other elements on the site.

The height of the slider can depend on two things:
    – set slider height (at Slider settings > Size)
    – The height of the tallest slide. Content mode works that way that it can adjust the height of the slider based on the tallest slide. So if you have at least one slide with lots of content, that will increase the whole slider height and all slides inside.

So what I can suggest is to set the slider height to the height of your “WPBakery Page Builder” content, and make sure that the slide content does not exceed that.

Hi Ramona and thanks for the response! I just disabled the maintenance mode, so you could take a look at the codes.

    Hi @helldoor

I tried to check your site again, but it’s in Maintenance mode still. Did you turn it back on?

Nope. Maybe try Ctrl+F5-ing so that it catches up. The UnderConstruction mode is still disabled and I’ll enable it again after you’ve had the chance to visit the site and take a look at the codes.

Unfortunately, it’s still in maintenance mode. We checked it in two different computers, using two different browser + a private session.
Here’s a screenshot on what I’m seeing in computer #1, Chrome, Private: https://imgur.com/P68oHlH

Sorry for the inconvenience. I deleted the Page Cache in the WP-Optimze Cache plugin. Now it should work.

    Hi @helldoor

    Yes, it works now, thanks!

What I’m seeing at slider #2 is that both the upscale and downscale seems to be disabled for the auto responsive mode: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/398-responsive-mode-auto
And without these options, the slider has a “fixed” size. Can you please make sure that both upscale and downscale are enabled? Does the problem persists after that?

Yes, thanks for the great support! One more question: Is it possible to edit a single slide in a certain way (overlay-, text-, color-setup etc.) and save this as a template, that I can apply to all the future slides I add to the slider?

    Hi @helldoor

Unfortunately, we don’t have template features, but you could create a slider to hold your “reusable” slides, and then copy the slides to the new sliders when needed: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/342-copy-a-slide-from-one-slider-to-another

Thank you once again! The support is truly great!

I’m glad I could help! ?? If you have other questions, feel free to reach out again.

As this question was answered, I’ll mark the topic as “resolved” to reflect that.
