    Hi,

I now have WP Retina 2x (pro version) working successfully, in conjunction with Shortpixel, for WebP and Retina image serving.

However the Retina serving isn’t working with:
    My homepage header image
Certain background/parallax placements (the b/w parallax images you will see on my homepage). I think this is due to them potentially being placed by CSS? I’m not sure – but WebP images are being served by Shortpixel, using the <picture> tag

So currently for both the above only the ‘original’ image size is being served which is making my page heavier than I’d like

Is there any way of resolving these?

Also, re lazy loading. I have have Rocket installed. Should I deactivate lazy loading on Rocket, or leave it active? And re the new Google Native Lazy Load plugin. Is it safe to have this active also? Or should only one plugin be used for Lazy Load?

    Many thanks

    Richard

    Hi,

What is your header image? I checked your website, and I can see that Retina images are being added to the header you are currently having.

    Hi Jordy,

As a workaround I removed the header image and simply inserted the same image as a normal image (the Rolling Stones image), instead of as a header image.

The other images affected are the black/white parallax images on the homepage.I have had to place smaller sized images (1200 pixels long edge) instead of the larger images I would like to insert in order to maintain sharpness on the larger screens.

Is there anything that could be done to enable Retina versions for these placements?

I’m really happy with how the plugin is working on the normally-inserted images, especially in conjuction with Shortpixel’s WebP image serving!

    Best

    Richard
