• I would like to take our recently redesigned corporate site and put it under WordPress. Its currently coded in Cold Fusion. Although I know CF, I don’t have access to the code for various reasons I won’t go into here.

I would like to see what people think. Can you envision this site as a WordPress site?

I was thinking about using the Atahualpa theme, since it is so incredibly flexible. I’m just not sure I can do that graphic nav bar or the section header (the area that has the pic of the baby on the right side) and how it switches when different major sections are selected.

    What do you think?

    Thanks

    Brian

  • Can this site be made into a WordPress site?

    Yes.

    What do you think?

If you can write HTML and CSS, and don’t mind dealing with a little PHP it’s easily possible. The time it will take is relative to your level of experience.

An experienced coder could get the HTML and CSS done within a few hours or an evening (the layout side of things, header, footer, css), depending on how quickly they want to work and how particular they are about “perfect” coding.. lol.. (perhaps days if they want to squeeze more cash out of you, lol)…

If you have more then a handful of pages, then it’s not a matter of just moving code, so i’m only guessing.. Just building a WordPress equivalent template for that site won’t take long (for an experienced coder).

It’s not just a case of converting the HTML and CSS though, but for the most part that’ll be what takes longest to get working if you don’t have experience with writing HTML or CSS.
