Best shared hosting services that supports Webp Express

  • Hello, I opened this thread because I had a lot of difficult to find a shared hosting that offers the image libs that Webp Express uses. (This topic is not about to hire a VPS).

    The last hosting I tried was HostGator but they support only GD as an Image Library, not Imagick or any binary cli utility. So, I migrated to a hosting company of my country and they are not the best I’ve used but is what I have at the moment and I want to migrate.

    So, please, I ask you to share your experiences to we have a better comprehension of where the Webp Express fits better in the hosting services around the world, thank you.

    All of my clients are on UnoEuro. I’m not particular fond of UnoEuro. My clients ended up there because UnoEuro bought someone who bought someone who was great. But well, their Imagick extension has been compiled with webp support. This nearly as good as having cwebp or vips. And having Imagick means that WebP Express can detect the quality of the jpegs. So in respect to WebP Express, its pretty good.
    It seems UnoEuro operates globally and have divisions in Denmark and Sweden.

    If a shared host doesn’t support webp conversion without resorting to cloud conversion, you can try sending them this letter.

    Perhaps they will not react the first time they get such letter, but let them know! If demand is high enough, they will probably be reasonable enough to meet that demand.

    A Spanish WebP EXpress user is happy about https://sered.net: “Sered.net is excellent for my SEO and I won’t change them. Spanish IPs and good SSD plans with custom IPs”. On his system, GraphicsMagick is working – excellent! And imagick is installed so quality detection of jpegs is working. So in respect to WebP Express, it is also a good host.
