• Hello!

I just updated your plugin to the version 1.10.1. I saw that one of the things that was fixed with this last update was this:
Fixed: wrong cookie name was used with the newly introduced double transaction tracking protection while setting the cookie

I am using a GDPR plugin where I add cookies that can be detected on my page so that people can block them if they choose to. I reached to you about this earlier in a different post. Now I was just wondering if I need to update anything, like is your cookie named something different now or something? I just wanna make sure that people can still block the cookie if they want to (we have an advanced setting function in our cookie pop up).

This is the info I have about the custom cookie called Google Analytics:

    ID:
    _ga, _gat_UA-118783491-1, _gcl_au, _gid

    Service name:
    _ga, _gat_UA-118783491-1, _gcl_au, _gid

    Script names:
    .googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-118783491-1, .googletagmanager.com, .google-analytics.com, google-analytics.com/plugins/ua/ec.js

    Cookie names:
    _ga, _gat_UA-118783491-1, _gcl_au, _gid

    Type of cookie: Analytics
First or third party: Third party
    Can be blocked: Yes
    Session or persistent: Persistent

    Thanks for your help ??

    Best regards, Isabella

PS: For Google Analytics we are using a plugin called Enhanced ecommerce for Woocommerce store.

    Hi,

The cookie name is now fixed as gtm4wp_orderid_tracked, it is stored for 1 year.
I’ve just added a fix and an improvement into the dev version of the plugin:
    – browser localStorage will be used instead of a cookie where available (most modern browsers)
    – where setting a cookie is the only option, the cookie will expire after 1 year to make sure prevention works on a longer period

OK thanks! So then I need to add the “gtm4wp_orderid_tracked” as cookie right? ?? This way people can block google tag manager tracking them?

Google Tag Manager will not block tracking of any cookie but you can include this cookie name on your policy page.

You might want to discuss this with a lawyer but my opinion is that this cookie is not related to GDPR consent management.
