Restoring a site (no idea if I backed it up)

  • Hi people,

    I’m in a bit of a mess.

    I had a wordpress site, hosted through godaddy, and lapsed on the payment (was careless and traveling).

    The site has gone, I’ve just paid the hosting again, and am wondering if there’s a way to restore. I don’t think I backed it up, and there’s one specific post I’d like to get back (was a big heartfelt post about a trauma I experienced).

    Site is also being a bit strange now and not loading to let me start a new one.

    Even if I can’t restore the website is there a way to recover this post? I kinda thought the internet was forever and you can’t delete anything, and yet it seems like I have.

    If you don’t have any backup, then try asking Godaddy if they have a backup of your site.

    I already did and they said it’s gone as they only hold a backup for 30 days and has been longer than that.

    Is there anything else you know of that I might be able to do?

    Even if I can’t restore the website is there a way to recover this post?

    Try searching google and see if it’s still there in their cache.

    Could find the homepage but not the specific post I’m looking for.

    Thanks for your help but sounds like I’ve done the things I can and am maybe not gonna recover what I’m looking for.
