• Hello!
I have several parent and child pages I would like to password protect. It should be simple using the native WordPress options, but for some reason it is not working on Safari (and sometimes in Chrome). When a person types in the password and clicks “Enter”, the page just reloads and asks for the password again. The password is correct and it is not showing an error that it is incorrect…just simply reloads the page. Help!

    Thanks,
    Jane

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • It’s possible that this could be influenced by the browser’s settings for cookies, if it doesn’t allow saving a cookie.

Thanks, Joy! So this will happen to anyone who has those settings in their browser? I’m worried because I can not control the user’s browser settings ?? Do you if there is a workaround for this?
    Thanks!

I don’t know if that’s the problem, but you could set your browser that way, log out, clear the cookies for the site, and see if it works.

This is crazy, but it’s still not working. I truly can’t figure it out. Have you ever heard of anyone else having this problem?

Wait, you say “it’s still not working”, as if you expected it to work with the browser set to not allow cookies? Or did we get our wires crossed somewhere?

I get prompted for a password when using Safari.

Clear all cookies related to the site from your browser.

@joy, maybe our wires did get crossed because I really am an amateur at this. I cleared the cookies and the cache…and it still didn’t work.

@steve The password box does show up, but when I put the password in, it just reloads the page…
