• Hi…i had previously posted a forum question about how to copy multiple blocks to another entry editor. id already tried to select multiple blocks in ‘visual mode’and then ‘right click’ to select ‘copy’ for the block. also tried ‘command C’. both times it defaulted to the previous clipboard copied text. i can get it to work with ‘code editor’ copy/paste but this is more cumbersome task as it takes some focus to pinpoint beginning/end in HTML than in visual editor.

as im in the process of merging blogs, im doing this for a good chunk of the day. i remember it worked a few times when i changed ‘tap to click’ in trackpad options but that no longer works for me.

i can also do this by switching to ‘classic editor mode’. however, what this does is merge all blocks into a single ‘classic block’ and that “change to block” doesn’t work for the copied classic block. even if i selected all text in the classic block and try to paste it into another block in the entry, alll this does is generate a duplicate classic block that cannot be changed

my workaround is to copy 1 line at a time and line-by-line copy and paste. the singles lines are able to siwitch to a paragraph block. but this takes a while.

    anyone else experiencing this?

on another note, can you set a single block to ‘private’ if the rest of the ntry is public?

Is it important that you’re able to copy individual blocks? Or is the goal to copy entire posts?

If you want to copy posts within a site, try the Duplicate Post function of Jetpack.

If you want to copy posts from one site to another, try the Export Tool.
