    Okay, I’ve read all the threads under Blank Site and have tried all the fixes, ie. deleting the Redirection plugin, overwriting the themes, deleting .htaccess, etc. with no success.

    Anything else I can try? I have 159 domains I am updating from 2.7 to 2.8.4 and so far a couple of them are coming up blank. I’m baffled. Help?

    I should also mention that even the admin login is blank.

    deleting the Redirection plugin

    I just upgraded a site (2.6 to latest) for a person who had a redirection plugin installed and I couldn’t get it to work on the latest WP code. He needed the redirection plugin, so I ended up restoring his original site. If you delete the redirect plugin, you may also need to remove all the redirections in the .htaccess file…or, if you’re not using it for anything else, just delete .htaccess and see if that gets you back into your site.

    As always…backup first…

    So far I’ve updated about 75 of the sites by first deleting the Redirection plugin. All but 2 have worked fine. On those two I then deleted .htaccess and uploaded themes again. Nada on both.

    I have backups but am hoping for an easier fix.

    Check with these options:

    -> Disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit.
    -> upgrade your wordpress to the latest version
    -> Remove all unwanted codes from htaccess
    -> Change your theme to default one to rules out theme level problems.

    Shane,

    It was obviously a plugin. I deleted all plugins and the sites came back. Now I will start reuploading plugins one-by-one! Thanks for the suggestion!

    It was the WP-PostRatings plugin every time
