can Canonical redirect work on Version 2.2.7.2 ?

I did not apply any major changes to the functions related to canonical redirect in 2.2.7.2 version.

On my test server, if I change the slug to “111”, so the native URL (used when my plugin is disabled) is https://domain.com/111, my plugin will still redirect it correctly to the custom permalink set for this post.

It looks like the problem is somewhere else, maybe the canonical redirect is disabled on the website where you have 2.2.7.2 version installed.

may i ask a question.

if the page title is aaa
it’s native link will be https://domain.com/aaa.

and i set it’s link as https://domain.com/111.html ,
if people link https://domain.com/111 ,
will it be redirect to https://domain.com/111.html automatically ?

they will not be redirected automatically, but to force the redirect you can use the following code snippet:

			$correct_permalink = get_permalink($element_id);

			wp_safe_redirect($correct_permalink, 301);
			exit();
