I just open any posts to be worked on in a new tab…
While it’s loading I’ll go back to the posts (or pages) list and attend to the next item.
I learned to do that from one of my sites that’s very busy and also very slow to load… Speed isn’t important on that site as it’s not public and doesn’t require anything much more than tossing an RSS feed to the upstream sites but that did seem to help sorta keep me focused and on task.
Another tip is to make use of the Quick Edit feature where you can. You never need to leave the posts list with that option. Using that will get you to where you can discern the posts that just need a tweak or status change. That’s a whole lot quicker that way. Content changes will need the editor of course.
Refresh every few tasks on completing to reduce clutter and backtracking onto already completed tasks.
I also run the Classic Editor Plugin set to let me choose which editor I wish to use from the posts list. Classic (with Tiny MCE Advanced) seems a lot faster for me but the Block Editor (Gutenberg) might be your preference.
The Tiny MCE Advanced plugin also ‘beefs up’ the Classic Editor side of Gutenberg also.
